Unfortunately, in my life diving experience in Cancun i have only come across one type of shark. This is the nurse shark. It is a true beauty and there is nothing as coming close to these fellow friends. Their average size is 10 feet.
Nurse shark are not a threat to divers since they are bottom dwellers and normally stay put under the reef. It’s quite a challenge to find one, actually. They are creatures of the night so in the day they stay put, or swim occasionally around the reef.
Their diet consists primarily of crustaceans like shrimps, sea urchins, lobsters, molluscs, and other fish, particularly stingrays.

Cozumel has the best diving in this side of the continent…! thats it ! For us divers that want the Cancun vacation, cozumel is a few hours away, and all dive operators in cancun have a cozumel day trip that is worth the ride.Cozumel is 150ft visibility diving, wich makes you feel you are diving in a giagantic pool. There is great marine life coming at you and the reefs are magnificent.
Cozumel waters offer drift diving which allows you to set your buoyancy and let go.. and sure enought the soft current will guide you throu the reefs.
More of cozumel diving coming up…so take the time to get down to cancun and take 1 day (or 2) to visist the pristine waters of Cozumel.
my personal diver operators in Cozumel are Tony Castillo from Emerald Divers.. they will treat you like kings
